Getting there

From Kuala Lumpur

  • By bus – Take an overnight bus from Terminal Bersepadu Selatan (TBS) to Kuala Terengganu Express Bus Terminal (7 hrs). Then, take a taxi or Grab to Merang Jetty (45 mins). There are also smaller bus companies that depart from other parts of KL that go straight to Merang Jetty.
  • By car – Drive to Merang Jetty (5 hrs) and park there.
  • By plane – Fly from Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 (KLIA2) to Sultan Mahmud Airport, Kuala Terengganu (1 hr). Then, take a taxi or Grab ride to Merang Jetty (45 mins).
  • From Merang Jetty, take the 10am speedboat to Turtle Bay, Lang Tengah Island. We recommend Ameen Boat Service.

LTTW AT TANJONG JARA RESORT

Getting there

From Kuala Lumpur

  • By bus – Take an overnight bus from Terminal Bersepadu Selatan (TBS) to Dungun Express Bus Terminal (7 hrs). Then, take a taxi or Grab to Tanjong Jara Resort (10 mins).
  • By car – Drive to Tanjong Jara Resort (4 hrs).
  • By plane – Fly from Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 (KLIA2) to Sultan Mahmud Airport, Kuala Terengganu (1 hr). Then, take a taxi or Grab ride to Tanjong Jara Resort (1 hr 17 mins)
  • Our Visitor’s Hut & hatchery is located adjacent to Nelayan Restaurant.

LTTW AT CHAKAR HUTAN BEACH

Getting there

From Kuala Lumpur

  • By bus -Take an overnight bus from Terminal Bersepadu Selatan (TBS) to Kerteh Express Bus Terminal (4 hrs 40 min). Then, take a taxi or Grab to Chakar Hutan Beach (15 mins). The path to the beach from the main road is unpaved.
  • By car – Drive to Chakar Hutan Beach (3 hrs 45 min). The path to the beach from the main road is unpaved.
  • By plane – Fly from Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 (KLIA2) to Sultan Mahmud Airport in Kuala Terengganu (1 hr) or Sultan Ahmad Shah Airport in Kuantan (45 min). Then, take a taxi or Grab ride to Chakar Hutan Beach (1 hr 45 mins).
  • Our staff and field house is located 3 km away from Chakar Hutan Beach.

THE RESTHOUSE, PERHENTIAN BESAR ISLAND

Getting there

From Kuala Lumpur

  • By bus – Take an overnight bus from Terminal Bersepadu Selatan (TBS) to Kuala Besut Bus Terminal (6 hrs). Then, take a short walk (10 mins) or take a taxi or Grab (5 mins) to Kuala Besut Jetty.
  • By car – Drive to Kuala Besut Jetty (6 hrs) and park there.
  • By plane – Fly from Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 (KLIA2) to Sultan Ismail Petra Airport, Kota Bharu (1 hr 10 mins). Then, take a taxi or Grab ride to Kuala Besut Jetty (1 hr 11 mins).
  • From Kuala Besut Jetty, boats run from every hour from 8am to 4pm. Drop off at Barat Jetty (40 mins). We recommend Perhentian Trans Holiday. The Resthouse is located a short walk from the jetty.
